Project Description

I want specifics on the general idea
Date: 2000
Location: East Gallery, Claremont, California
Medium: Flagging tape, eyehooks
Size: 40 x 40 x 14 feet / 12.19 x 12.9 x 4.27 meters

Geckler’s first flagging tape installation, and exploration into large-scale, this monochrome design created curves from straight lines. This basic technique continued to permeate later works such as “Spread the ashes of the colors” and “All these points connecting one”. This work is unique as Geckler encouraged viewers to step over the design threshold and experience the work from both sides of the large and essentially flat plane.
