Project Description

Behind the bending mirror

Date: 2018
Location: Facebook Connectivity Lab, Northridge, CA
Medium: Custom-dyed nylon cord, powder coated steel
Size: 25.7 x 11 x 1 feet / 7.8 x 3.4 x 0.3 meters

This commissioned installation took its inspiration from the scientific work that is being done at the Facebook Connectivity Lab. The colors represent the diversity of subject matter being investigated by the scientists. The symmetry and order of the lines were inspired by a recent project of the lab that beamed wifi down to places lacking that infrastructure, which exponentially increased the connections and communication between residents of the areas and the world at large.
