One of Geckler’s more intimate and dense installations to date, Believe in things you say, is what visitors see as they approach the gallery. The multi-hued composition is comprised of 180 strands of flagging tape affixed in two distinct planes that cross each other in an “X” formation. The 7-color color progression on each plane is the same, but mirrored, so that we see 4 distinct segments when viewed from the interior. Viewers cannot enter or transverse the space of the artwork itself, but instead are forced to view it from either end, or through the glass façade.
