Medium: Flagging tape, hardware, Nike Flywire Basketball Shoes
Size: 25 x 40 x 14 feet / 7.62 x 12.19 x 4.27 meters
Comprised of three parts – a string art representation of the Flywire Basketball Shoes, a façade along the main pedestrian walkway of the Staples Center Complex, and a three-dimensional illustration of Blake Griffin’s slam dunk jump trajectory. The colors were chosen to match the LA Clippers team uniforms and size 17 shoes were used for the installation, as if Griffin’s ghost has just completed the highly impressive dunk.
