Woven Panels – Progression

These panels are created from the center outwards. Mathematical progressions between colors produce gradients and other subtle color shifts within the canvas. The strands of flagging tape are 1/16 of an inch wide and overlap each other to create depth and texture. These are planned out in advance – sketched with markers as color studies and then meticulously created. Each strand of flagging tape is knotted on the verso, creating an active and exciting surface that is usually hidden from the eye.
