Geckler collaborated with Austin Peay State University foundation students over the Fall and Spring semesters to create “Believing is art”, a site-specific installation inside of the new Art+Design Building on campus.

This installation is comprised of approximately 3200 strands of suspended flagging tape arranged in a series of gradations throughout the spectrum. “Believing is art” harks back to similar suspended artworks Geckler created in the summer of 2010 starting with ‘Every move you make, every step you take’, then again in 2011 with ‘Lay it down and start up.“

This artwork was co-produced and made possible by Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts. CECA provides students, the Clarksville community, and the middle Tennessee region with engaging experiences through the Art + Design, Music, Theatre & Dance, and Creative Writing programs at APSU.
